Attending a wine party is always a pleasurable experience. It is an excellent way to bring together family and friends or celebrate a special occasion. However, when it comes to holding or organizing one, it can be quite challenging and demanding. Fortunately, with extensive planning, some imagination, and these helpful tips below, you can throw a fabulous wine party that people will never forget.
Pick the Proper Venue
Venue is one of the most important keys in throwing wine parties. For one, you need to find a smoke-free venue so that guests would be able to enjoy wine drinking. This is because wine aroma is subtle and can be affected by cigarette smoke.
Moreover, ambience, lighting, and interior also contribute to the success of the party. Music and wine go well together so you should choose music that will enhance the experience of wine drinking. Jazz or lounge music can be an ideal choice for the soundtrack. Lighting should set a relaxing mood, go with dimmed lights over harsh bright lights.
Invite the Right Guests
Keep your wine parties small. The ideal number is around six to twelve people. Not only is a small party more manageable, it is also less expensive. As you know, wine can be quite expensive and inviting so many people can surely burn a huge hole in your pocket.
Aside from that, it would also be a good idea to limit the invitees to family and friends who are wine enthusiasts as they are the ones who will be able to appreciate the party more. Choose attendees who can either stay for the night or have a sober ride going home. You would not want to worry about guests driving after drinking.
Choose a Wonderful Theme
Deciding on a theme makes any party easier to organize. It is not any different with wine parties. One idea is to focus on wines from a particular region and serve these wines to your guests. You can also choose wackier themes like wines in movies for example and ask your guests to come to your party dressed as their favorite movie character (James Bond, The Godfather, and so on). Also, incorporating some wine art will add some uniqueness to your party. For fun artwork that mixes wine and animals, look for Will Bullas artwork.
Select Good Wine
Since the wine is the focal point of the party, you need to choose exquisite wines that will entice your guests. Choose wines that are similar in variety and price. Aside from that, it would also help that you know information about the wine you are serving so that when guests ask you, you have something to share with them.
Serve Great Food
While wine is the main attraction of the wine party, this does not mean that you can neglect the food that will be served during the event. Since some food complement wine better, you need to be choosy with your food and wine pairings. One way to know is to check with your local wine shop or surf the web for recommended pairings. Rice and saucy dishes are not advisable for wine parties. Instead, you should opt for cheese, olives, and tapas. A selection of cheeses presented on a nice wooden cheese board is one of the better options.
Throwing a wine party, whether it is wine tasting event or a simple gathering with wine as the main attraction, is one of the best ways to spend time with family and friends. Don’t forget about including a wine party favor. Personalized wine glasses make a great keepsake and ensures your guests will always remember your party. So, with these simple tips, you will surely be able to throw a wine party that will be the talk of the town for days to come.

Unless you have been living on another planet recently, you will know that environmental and sustainability issues have been a hot topic. Even as recently as the 90’s, not many people really considered where their nutrition, tableware or clothing etc came from. They just paid their money and got what they wanted. However, in a struggling economy and a planet suffering all sorts of pollution, we need to think differently about how we live our lives. Here are some ideas to help save the planet and local economies when having a simple meal.
Local Suppliers. It seems all to easy these days to buy exotic fruit whenever you want it or pick up some foreign spices from the local shop. The fact this produce is sourced thousands of miles away has not long been in people’s consciousness and the impacts are large. Not only does the transport release vast amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, due to burning fuel and having to use a food and wine cooler to keep the produce chilled all the way, but also local food suppliers struggle to compete with low foreign costs. By doing as much of your shopping in local stores as you can and buying local produce, you will secure your communities future and help save the planet at them same time.
Choose Less Packaging. The amount of packaging that you will find on many supermarket products these days is gratuitous. A single cake might be singly wrapped, inside a little box with a plastic place-holder, which is cloaked in cellophane and transported within a cardboard box, with the other cake boxes. More often than not this packaging is unnecessary, so try and avoid those products that go over the top with it.
Ethically Sourced Accessories. Ensuring your meal times do not cost the planet means thinking about more than just your food. Everything from the cutlery you use to the little wine gifts bought for yourself or other can have just as much influence and the consumables themselves. Ask yourself where this product has come from, is it something that could be made from a more sustainable material, and is this a disposable product when I could be buying a reusable one? A good example of this is chopsticks as the disposable kind accounts for acres of lost rain forest every day.

Infertility Symptoms – Definitions
When a couple cannot have a baby after 12 months of regular and unprotected intercourse, they can be classified infertile. Infertility is defined as the inability to reproduce.
One or both partners have varying emotional reactions when they are diagnosed as infertile. Severe reactions occur more frequently among childless couples.
Infertility, in couples that have never had a child, is referred to as primary infertility.
On the other hand, secondary infertility describes the condition wherein couples who have successfully become pregnant once are having difficulties in getting pregnant again.
Maleness
Various factors, both emotional and physical, can lead to infertility.
Around 30 to 40% of infertility cases in men are attributed to maleness factors like retrograde ejaculation, low sperm count, scarring from STDs, hormone problems, environmental pollutants, and others.
Intake of prescription drugs like nitrofurantoin, cimetidine and spironolactone and even frequent marijuana use can negatively affect sperm count.
Femaleness
Ovarian cysts, tumors, pelvic infection, hormonal imbalances, ovarian dysfunction, enometriosis, fallopian tube abnormalities, scarring from STD are some examples of “female factors.” These make up between 40 and 50 % of infertility problems among couples.
Factors contributed by both individuals and unidentifiable factors are responsible for 10 to 30% of all infertility cases.
It is projected that only 10 to 20% of couples won’t be able to get pregnant after one year. It is very crucial for couples to contine trying to have a baby at least for 12 months.
Age-Related Factors
Healthy couples who have intercourse regularly and are below 30 years old have only a 25 to 30% chance a month of becoming pregnant. A woman’s fertility peak is during her 20s. The likelihood of pregnancy for women above 35 years old is less than 10% each month, even less for those beyond 40 years old.
Other Non Age-Related Factors
It is not just age or its related factors that causes infertility. The risk of infertility is also heightened because of the following factors:
* Multiple sexual partners (higher possibility of getting STDs)
* Sexually transmitted diseases
* History of pelvic inflammatory disease
* Men with epididymitis or orchitis history
* Males who’ve had mumps
* Male varicocle
