The RMiguel Monkey Parchment Coffee from RMiguel Coffee is a new type of high dollar coffee recently launched in the US, which is derived from coffee beans chewed on by rhesus monkeys in India.

Spotajava coffee doesn't have any monkeys but it seems that never the less monkeys are being used in the production of some high end coffee.

The monkeys are said to select the ripest coffee beans to eat in their native forests, which they chew on and spit out; the company then picks up these beans for use in its coffee.

Meanwhile, MD Drinks has introduced a new type of functional beverage to the US under its Function brand. The Urban Detox in Citrus Prickly Pear flavor has an unusual benefit, claiming to help rid the lungs and sinuses of airborne pollutants, and fight hangovers.

Another bottled beverage has been launched that has a very specific target market. The Agualicious Healthy Kids Water, from Waterlicious, has recently been introduced to the US market, consisting of a bottled water targeted at Hispanic children.

Also touted as having good health benefits is Tizane Beverages' Tizane 100% Organic Beverage.  Recently launched in the US, the bottled drink claims to be the first beverage featuring 100% organic botanicals. Continuing the healthy beverage theme, PBM Products has launched the A-Soy Adult Nutritional Beverage in the US.

Finally, Riba Foods has introduced California Blue Buzz-A-Rita Energized and Juiced Margarita Mix in the US, which is touted as being both an energy drink and a margarita mix in one.
